Students Prepare for Sixth Form

After gaining impressive GCSE results, students are looking forward to their next stage of studies at the CBA Sixth Form.

Many students will be making the move up to Level 3 studies at CBA following a successful GCSE results day on August 27.

Other students are building on their GCSE results and will be following the Level 2 Business package which will help them gain the necessary 5 GCSE grades A*-C as well as English and Maths. All students will be following the new BTEC Work Skills enrichment programme which will gain points and also prepare them for the future.

All rounder Mirko Bilic   is one of the students who will be furthering his studies by joining Year 12.

The student who gained A grades in History, Maths, PE, English, IT and Double Science as well as an A star in English Literature, is now currently deciding whether to follow an arts or science route or to take subjects across the two disciplines.

He said: "I did not expect to do so well, so was really surprised, yet delighted at my results.

"I will discuss with my parents what will be the best subjects for me to study then start preparing for my Sixth Form studies."

Vice Principal of Sixth Form Avril Bartley-Smith, said: "I am looking forward to welcoming the new cohort of students into the CBA Sixth Form.

"It will be the start of an intensive two years of study, which will see the students develop both academically and socially."

She added: "As the senior students in the Academy the sixth former set the standards  both in terms of dress and behaviour, so we will be expecting a lot from them."

New subjects that will be taught include BTEC Dance and GCE Chemistry, Physics and History.

Any students (either former CBA students or external students) who would still like to apply to the Sixth Form can contact Avril Bartley-Smith by emailing  ABartley-Smith@ or ringing reception on 01536 303120 to arrange an interview.
