Allotment Appeal - Morrisons Vouchers Wanted
CBA is calling on parents and members of the community to collect the Let's Grow vouchers from supermarket Morrisons.
The vouchers can be turned into gardening equipment and top of our list is a wooden framed greenhouse, so that students can cultivate seedlings over the colder winter months.
In order to secure the greenhouse we need to collect 12,500 vouchers by November 1, so with just six weeks in total we are appealing for everyone to help out.
If the target is not reached, the vouchers will be exchanged for other much needed equipment.
Science teacher Neil price, who helps run the fortnightly garden club, said: "We are appealing for parents to donate their vouchers to us.
"A greenhouse will be a real boost to the allotment and mean that we can grow many more varieties and students can also learn about a new gardening method ."
The vouchers are awarded with any sale of over £10 in the store.
Some special produces such as Morrisons own brand cornflakes, rice crackles and milk also have bonus vouchers printed on the packaging and shoppers should also keep receipts as some have Lets grow Codes printed on them. These can be exchanged by CBA for more vouchers.
There is a collection box in the main reception for vouchers to be posted.
Since it was started last year the allotment has grown into an established feature of CBA.
Much of the produce that was grown by the green fingered students and staff made its way to the school canteen and a fruit and vegetable sale raised £80 which has gone towards purchasing more seeds.
The Gardening Club meets on alternate Tuesdays from 3.45pm. New members are always welcomed and the club is keen to see new year 7 students get involved.
So please donate - we will keep you updated of the tally as the weeks go by.
