A Harmonious Union

The first musical collaboration between Corby Male Voice Choir and CBA students went down a storm.

The CBA theatre was packed on Friday night  (Feb 5th) as the established male voice choir joined forces with the CBA Concert Band and the CBA choir to host an evening of music.

The night involved separate band performances as well as solos from students and the evening was rounded off with a joint performance of This Old Man .

Director of Music at CBA Clive Wears said: "It was lovely to see the theatre packed on Friday night for a concert featuring four groups, Corby Male Voice Choir, CBA concert band, CBA choir, and students from the GCSE music group.

"The concert featured music from shows, from films, and from musicals and was enjoyed by all.

"A highlight was seeing members of the local community mixing with our students from CBA."

Corby Male Voice Choir Musical Director Andrew Torbell said: "I was very impressed with the enthusiasm of the students. It was lovely to have the opportunity to sing together at the end of the concert."

Groups from the CBA music department are now looking forward to performing in the Kettering and District Eisteddfod in the week beginning March 15th.
