Carnival Honour For CBA Student

Year 10 student Larissa Kightly has been selected to represent Corby as part of the official Carnival Court.

The student was chosen for the honour on Friday night after beating off competition from many other teenagers from around the town to be part of the court.

She will be one of two princesses in the senior court, who will accompany the newly crowned Queen.

Larissa, who won the honour of Corby East Princess before being selected to the main court, will travel Europe during her 12 month duty; with the main event being a visit to Corby's sister town Velbert's official Carnival.

Larissa, who is studying PE, Business, Dance and Hospitality and wants to go on to have a career in Dance said: "I am delighted to have won as it will be a real experience and something that will really boost my confidence.

"I am looking forward to representing Corby, wearing the great costume and making new friends."

To secure her place in the court Larissa, (pictured far left in the picture) had to give a speech before a judging panel and audience at the Grampian Club in Corby.

She was fitted for her official dress on Saturday and will start official duties soon.
