CBA’s musical students will be showcasing their talents at a series of recitals taking place later this term.

The recitals kick off on Tuesday, May 18th with a String and Piano recital.

This will be followed on Monday, May 24th with a vocal recital; a Woodwind recital on Tuesday, May 25th and the final recital will feature the Brass musicians who will perform on Wednesday, May 26th.

All of the 100 plus students who currently have extra-curricular music tuition at CBA will be involved in the recitals.

Director of Music Clive Wears said:  "The recitals will be a tremendous occasion for parents to join us in celebrating some of the many achievements of the students at Corby Business Academy.  "Students in music have been working extremely hard over the course of this term in preparation for these recitals."

All of the recitals will take place in the small lecture theatre at 4pm - except the final recital on the 26th which will commence at 3.30pm.

This Academic year has been another great musical year for CBA students.

The Senior Concert Band retained its Eisteddfod title and another Eisteddfod title was also added as the Brass Ensemble was placed first.

The various CBA bands have also been involved in a cross-town orchestra event and have performed in a number of CBA shows as well as staging a joint concert with the acclaimed Corby Male Voice Choir.

Still to come in the musical calendar is the Music For A Summer's Evening Concert - (which will be staged on Wednesday, June 16th) and the Music and Dance Through Time end of year show being staged on July 21st.

Ticket details of these forthcoming shows will be available on our website soon.
