Computer Whizzes Help Out Business Group

A group of students who developed a website for Corby Business Group were presented with gifts as a thank you for their efforts.

Corby Business Group approached the Academy for help in designing a website and the challenge was taken on enthusiastically by CBA's web group, who meet in Session Three.
They will even use the website to advertise their services as web-developers for other organisations.
Ika Casta from Corby Business Group handed over gift vouchers to Steven McBride, Steven Forsyth, Clark User and Haydon Close, who dedicated their spare time to the project.
She told them: "We're really impressed with what you have done and we wanted to say a big thank you.
"It was a real-life project for you to complete, rather than just pretending and it's something we hope to build on."
She told them it had already been tested by one of the companies and was found to be working well.
Steven McBride said: "This was something new to us so we have learnt new skills. It will look good on our CVs."
Teacher Karl Lomax, who led the project, said the next step is making sure the website appears in the top 10 on Google.
The project has helped to strengthen links between the Academy, which is an enterprise centre, and businesses in the area.
