Academy Hosts Schools' Orchestra

The sound of music brought schools together when Corby Business Academy hosted the Corby Cross Town Orchestra.

The town-wide event is a growing initiative which involves primary and secondary schools coming together to perform in a large orchestra.
The Academy hosted the third event of its kind last Wednesday (June 30th) and had more than 40 of its own students taking part.
They were joined by 45 pupils from Kingswood School, Studfall Junior School and Our Lady and Pope John School.
Music Teacher Felicity Cornish said: "The CBA students were a credit to the school in their performances both with the group and on their own, and provided an inspiration and role model to the other students, showing the primary school children where they could be in a few years' time.
"Many thanks go to all students who worked hard and performed so well and those parents who came along to support."
The joint orchestra performed two pieces, Chariots of Fire and Pomp and Circumstance, and CBA's Junior Concert Band and Woodwind Ensemble performed pieces of their own.
The next event will take place in the autumn term and is likely to include even more schools.
