Talented Musicians Wow Judges at National Music Festival

Five CBA students achieved an impressive milestone when they competed in the National Festival of Music for Youth Finals at Birmingham Symphony Hall.

Sereti Ogwang, Kevin Ogwang, Myles Peters, Andile Chiwuta and David Graham have recently joined Youth Brass 2000, which is currently the Champion Youth Brass Band of Britain.
One of their first concerts was the hugely prestigious event at Birmingham Symphony Hall.
The band performed three pieces to an exceptionally high standard and the judges were glowing in their praise for the band.
One commented the band had an "absolutely sublime sound" and was "stunning" and that the performance "absolutely first rate".
Due to their "superb presentation and faultless playing", the band were given an award, which means they may be chosen to play in London at the Royal Albert Hall for the Schools Prom during the autumn.
Director of Music Clive Wears said: "This is a tremendous achievement for these students as the standard in the competition was extremely high and there were six other bands in their category from around the country.
"Particularly since they have only recently joined the band, they have done extremely well to help the band to such an achievement so soon."
