CBA Alumni Success

Corby Business Academy are overjoyed for ex-student Niall who has been selected for the English Colleges Football Association national team.

Niall, who left the Academy at the end of Year 11 in 2022 chose to continue his studies at Tresham College. He began playing football when his family moved to Corby in 2013 and immediately knew that he wanted to become a goalkeeper.

As he grew older, he progressed to start playing for Corby Town U10 through to U14 and was then invited to trial with Leicester City on three occasions, Peterborough Utd and Cambridge Utd before eventually signing for Northampton Town Academy at U16.

Niall was released at Northampton Town and decided to attend Tresham College on a Sports Diploma course along with playing football for the college. He was nominated by Tresham College to attend the England Colleges Football Team trials for two years running and this year he was successful at being selected as one of the two goalkeepers.

Niall will now be involved in a number of matches for the England team before heading out to Italy for a tournament. Niall is currently training with Kettering Town men's first team.

Although Niall has always wanted to play professionally in England, there are opportunities to head out to the USA as he has been offered scholarships where he will study sports psychology and play "Soccer" in the American system.

Niall's dad Mark commented, "When Niall started playing football we would never have thought he would have progressed so far. He has had highs and lows but always stayed positive and worked very hard to always improve."

Tresham College confirmed, "Niall has worked tirelessly over the last two years with us and deserves every success coming his way."

Well done Niall! We are really proud of you and cannot wait to hear about your future successes.
