German Visitor Impressed With CBA

A German student from Corby’s twin town said he was impressed with the technology on offer at CBA during a recent visit.

Alexander Blißenbach, from Velbert near Düsseldorf, called in at the Academy during a two-week exchange trip to Corby.

Alexander, who is in Year 11, was accompanied by Corby's former Mayor Mary Butcher (pictured).

The pair were shown around the Academy by student Nicole Parsons and met with students studying French with Languages Teacher Karen Turney.

She demonstrated the Linguascope website that students have been using to develop their language skills.

Alexander said: "I like that there are so many computers to learn on; in Germany we only have two separate rooms with about 20 to 30 computers.

"The class sizes are also smaller here - we have up to 34 in a class."

Students who met Alexander commented on his good grasp of English.
