Plans For First-Ever Joint Academy Christmas Concert

CBA is teaming up with its sister academies to share talent at two carol services in December.

CBA Vocalize and the CBA Concert Band will join forces with their counterparts at Kettering Science Academy and Brooke Weston Academy for the performances in Kettering and Corby.

The first will take place on Tuesday, December 7th at St Brendan's Church in Corby at 7pm and the second will be held at the Salvation Army in Kettering two days later.

Music teachers at all three academies will trade places in the build up to the events to practice with each band and choir.

CBA's Director of Music Clive Wears said: "We have performed with Brooke Weston before but this is the first time all three academies will come together for a show like this.

"We are looking forward to high-quality performances from all three academies for this special occasion."

The carol concert is just one event in an exciting programme this year for CBA's choir and concert band.

In June, they are heading off to Holland for a series of performances, including a show at a theme park and a bandstand.

It is the first time the music students will have travelled abroad together and excitement is mounting.

Mr Wears said: "There will be lots of opportunities for us to perform and we are trying to partner up with another school to do a concert with them.

"You always remember school trips for life so we're really looking forward to it."

There are still some places available for choir and concert band members - for more details speak to Mr Wears.
