New Governors Appointed
The first, Clive Chenery, has been a governor at Weldon Primary School since 2006 and was made Chair two years later.
Clive worked for British Steel for 18 years in various engineering, production and general management roles and now works as a driving instructor.
He has two children - a son in Year 7 at CBA and a daughter in Year 6 at Weldon Primary School and Clive's fiancée also has a daughter in Year 6 at Weldon.
He said: "I have enjoyed making a contribution to the primary school and community in this way. I look forward to the steep learning curve of the transition to secondary school and the academy status of CBA. I hope I can add value to the governing body and represent the parental view in our discussions."
The second governor is Laura Callaghan, whose daughter is in Year 7 at CBA.
Laura left her career in construction three years ago to return to university where she is currently in the final year of a full-time degree in Education and Economics.
She also volunteers with the Education Welfare Service in Northampton.
Laura said: "I am a strong believer in the value of education and share the Academy's view on the importance of parental involvement for education success.
"As Parent Governor I look forward to being part of the Academy's development and, hopefully, providing an effective link between the parents and the governors and faculty of the Academy."
Anyone who would like to contact any of the CBA governors can do so by emailing the clerk of the governing body, Wendy Crookston, on email@example.com, marking who their correspondence is for.
