Invitation To CBA Recitals

Singers and musicians are getting ready for the Eisteddfod festival by holding two recitals for parents and families.

While they have been busy practising, fellow students taking a vocational studies BTEC have been helping out by promoting the event, which they have called CBA's Musical Pic n Mix.

CBA Vocalize will perform on Monday, March 7th, from 4pm to 4.45pm in the main theatre.

The Concert Band will perform on Thursday, March 10th at the same time in the same place.

The events will feature a selection of film music, popular classics and soloists and duets from the choir.

BTEC students have been working hard to promote the recitals as part of their studies and have spoken to theatre publicity officers, designed posters and liaised with staff organising the event (pictured).

Director of Music Clive Wears said: "It will be a good chance to hear CBA Vocalize and the Concert Band perform in the run up to the Eisteddfod.

"We have four groups entering the Eisteddfod competition, and the Concert Band has won for the last two years, so we want all four groups to win their categories.

"It's good for them to get out and perform in competitions and to see what we're up against locally.

"Next year we want to enter national competitions and go a bit further afield."

CBA's Musical Pic n Mix is a free event and tickets are not required.
