Singers Attend Olympic Choir Selection Event

A group from CBA showed off their skills at a selection event to find singers for the Olympic Games in 2012.

The group of seven attended a launch event at the Royal Opera House in London earlier this term and went back to the same venue for the next stage of the process.

They were split into groups with other singers from across the country and had to demonstrate to different vocal coaches what they can do.

Each student had overcome their initial fears and sing on their own in front of their group.

The group - Connor Wilson, Kevin Ogwang, Andile Chiwuta, Molly Walker, Shannon Maynard-Phillips, Shona McKinnon and Josie Murrie - are due to find out next week if any of them have made it through to the next round of auditions.

Music Teacher Felicity Cornish said: "It was a lot more challenging this time round because they had to sing on their own and the vocal coaches didn't tell them what they were looking for, which some of the students found hard.

"I'm so proud of them for overcoming their nerves and they grew in confidence."
