Scoring A Talk From A Top Flight Author

Two groups of Year 7 students were invited to meet a wellknown author at the local library in Corby on Friday, January 16.

Tom Palmer writes football detective books which are fast and exciting.

Tom told our students that he was a very poor reader until his mum got him reading football comics and articles about sport in the newspapers. Students enjoyed a football quiz with a penalty shoot out at the end. (Yes, a penalty shoot out in the library!).

Tom presented the winning teams with trophies and all the students were given a signed copy of Foul Play one of Tom’s popular novels. We were delighted to receive an e-mail from Tom saying how impressed he was by our students and how much he had enjoyed their company. For more information about Tom’s books log on to his website
