Students Work With RS Mentors
Since the start of September, a group of Year 11 business students have been taken under the wing by some of RS Components most experienced and valued employees.
After some initial meetings and a tour of RS, the students were given the fantastic opportunity to spend a day shadowing their mentors and gaining first hand experience of what it takes to succeed in business.
The students were all given mentors that had different roles within the business to enable them to gain a wide range of knowledge that they could bring back and share with each other. The mentors experience ranged from Customer Service Management through to Sales and Training, all areas in which the students have to study for their course.
Since the visits the students have also received regular guidance sessions from the mentors to help them gain more insight into the world of business, which in turn has helped them to give more depth to their coursework and hopefully a raise in grades!
Year 11 student Dan Buckland said: "My time with my mentor has been a real eye opener, I didn't realise how much hard work and hours went into training the staff at RS and that it was such an ongoing process. I have been able to use this information in my coursework and picked up lots of ideas on how I could improve it."
