CBA at the Musicals

Rehearsals are under way for the summer concert CBA at the Musicals.

Dance groups have begun working on their routines, student actors have begun rehearsing their lines, the musicians are tuning their instruments and the prop making is getting underway for the variety extravaganza being staged on Tuesday, July 14.

Themed around popular West End shows, numbers will be re-created from productions including Mama Mia, Billy Elliot, Bombay Dreams and Les Miserables.

More than 100 students and staff are involved in the show, which will be performed in the CBA Theatre at 7.30pm.

Producer Francia Dickinson said: “Students and staff are putting in a huge amount of time into rehearsals and we are keen for this to be the best show ever staged at the Academy.

“There will be something for everyone, from dance pieces to great music and some fantastic acting.

“We have had a really good response from the students and they are keen to take to the CBA stage.”

To give students a flavour of what they will be aiming for, a trip to London to watch the stage version of Grease has also been organised.

Students can also get involved with the behind the scenes workings of the show and a Production Club is held in Session 3 on Thursdays in the AMID faculty.

Anyone interested in helping make sure the show runs smoothly can email PNS Teacher Daryl Handy or just go along to the Session 3 club.
