Race 4 Life

There’s just over a week to go before CBA staff pull on their trainers for Race 4 Life.

Eight members of staff will be tackling the 5km route at Stamford on May 17, as part of the nationwide event which will see hundreds of thousands of women join together to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Elaine Ponton, Kim Asher, Karen Byrne, Nikki Clark, Sally Knibbs, Nicol Hall-Rushton, Tracy Filer and Isabel Duell with her daughter Emily form the CBA team and have been putting in the training over the last few weeks to make sure they make the distance.

Any CBA spectators will be able to spot them in the crowd as they will be donning specially commissioned T-Shirts bearing the Academy name.

Organiser Elaine Ponton said: "We thought it would be a nice fun event for staff to get involved in, but at the same time there is of course the serious task of raising money for charity.

"We would like to raise a minimum of £100, but if we could get nearer to £500 that would be great.

Now in its 16th year the woman only event has so far raised more than £240m for Cancer Research UK.

Also on the same day a team of CBA staff will be setting off on their Three Peaks Challenge.

Ben Nevis, Snowdonia and Scafell Pike will all be tackled by the team which is hoping to complete the feat (3417 feet of climbing and 480 miles of driving) in under 24 hours.
