Art Music and Industrial Design

Welcome to the Art, Music and Design Faculty.

All areas of the Faculty have the equipment and resources to really prepare students to live in the 21st century. Our faculty has state-of-the-art technology with a wide variety of equipment to help students to explore and develop their creativity.

There are specialist rooms for CADCAM, heat machines and plastics as well as a large workshop. The textiles room has two large embroidery machines, textured embellishers which create textures shapes on fabric, sublimation printers as well as more traditional sewing machines.

The industrial kitchen has professional standard ranges to cook on so the catering and hospitality courses work in a truly realistic way.

The art studios encourage creative designs through many different medias from pottery to sketching, animation, and links with Design help to combine artistic and technical skill opportunities.

The music rooms have keyboards, Apple Mac PCs and software for students to create their own compositions. All of this is supported by a team of expert music teachers who develop the skills of students on a wide range of musical instruments.

Afternoon clubs provide students the opportunity to try new things and explore their ideas further by trying out other resources. The skills developed in lessons are being applied in a wide range of additional activities from building a Go-Kart to becoming a member of the choir or emulating Jamie Oliver, with the aim of enjoying practical activity.

Training in using the newest equipment is included so students can learn at the cutting edge.
