Out of seat, distracting others
Warning, follow R4L, session 5 issued if not enough work completed, contact home if persistent.

Shouting out, talking to peers at the wrong time, interrupting an adult, distracting others, making inappropriate noises, not listening

Walking away from classroom teacher
Statement completed, parents contacted and referred to DOS.

Failure to attend session 5 - First time

Fighting (continued, several hits), physically hurting others on purpose and/or persistent bullying, throwing objects with intent, racist/serious verbal abuse toward children or staff
Isolation or fixed term exclusion (Senior teacher for Behaviour informed of incident), incident forms completed, home contacted, student checked for injuries, log any injuries in accident book and contact home, in report any racial or bullying issues to the local authority, meeting with parents, issued with a report.

Persistent serious defiance
Isolation or fixed term exclusion, issued with a report, meet with parents and logged on Progresso

Persistent refusal to follow instructions
Isolation, Progresso log and parent meeting, report issued

Persistently abusive and inappropriate language directed at staff
Isolation, issued with a report, possible fixed term exclusion meet with parents and logged onto Progresso.

Stealing, vandalism, breaking school property intentionally or through dangerous behaviour
Isolation or fixed term exclusion (senior teacher for behaviour informed of incident), incident forms completed, home contacted, students checked for injuries, issued with a report.

Failure to attend session 6 from DOS
DOS to contact VP/SAP to inform them of the failure to attend session 5. VP/SAP to contact VP for Behaviour to organise session 5 in isolation.

If any of the negative behaviour choices are repeated or more severe, including assault on staff or children resulting in serious medical injury, or using a weapon or refusing to respond to the Principal’s (or designated person) instructions
Child will have fixed term exclusion or be permanently excluded. If the Principal does not feel confident the child is safe to return to school, permanent exclusion or managed move will be considered.
