July 2014 - Prom Letter 2014/2015

July 2014

Dear Parent/Carer

The Corby Business Academy Prom is a celebration of student achievements over their time at the Academy. The purpose of this letter is to inform both you and the students the requirements in order to attend. The criteria has been agreed with Senior Management and the Prom Committee.

The criteria is as follows:

Students must achieve at least 95% attendance by 22nd May 2015 (end of Term 5). Please note authorised absences are NOT counted in this percentage, unless there is a medical reason to which you will have provided evidence, for example a doctor’s note. Holidays that are taken without the authorisation of the Principal will also result in automatic exclusion from the Prom. To monitor attendance your child’s tutor has access to e-portal where students can check their progress within tutor times.

In addition to the required attendance, students are also monitored for their behaviour. Students who are issued with more than two 'Isolation' or one full 'exclusion' day/s will also be excluded from attending the Prom automatically regardless of attendance.

Both conditions will take effect from Thursday 4th September 2015 to Friday 22nd May 2015. Students who are unsuccessful will be informed by myself at the start of Term 6. Those who have reached the required criteria will be listed at Student Reception and only those individuals will be able to purchase their tickets.

The date and time of the prom will be confirmed in September, along with the cost of ticket. The Prom is normally held within 2 weeks of the last exam therefore please ensure holidays are booked after this time to avoid disappointment.

The Prom Committee work extremely hard to ensure that the prom is a success and are currently planning fund raising activities to assist in the cost of the event. If any parent/carer wishing to donate, it will be greatly received.

Please feel free to contact me regarding any concerns by email; aharris@corbybusinessacademy.org or by contacting the Academy on the number above.

Yours faithfully
