The School Direct model is a school-led teacher training route, where participating schools recruit and select their own trainees. Although there is an expectation that trainees will go on to work within the school or cluster of schools in which they were trained, there is no absolute guarantee of employment.

To apply for this route you must meet the statutory requirements for initial teacher training. Your degree should be at least 50% in the subject you wish to teach, although in some cases we will also consider degrees that are closely linked e.g. an engineering degree for a science training place.
