Running for a Cause: Sixth Form Students Raise Over £1,500 for Charity at London Landmarks Half Marathon

Over the Easter break, two of our dedicated Year 13 students, Amelia Vickery and Charlie Turner, went the extra mile—13.1 to be exact—in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, raising over £1,500 for Alzheimer’s UK and Cancer Research UK.
The event, which winds its way through some of the capital’s most iconic sights, was more than just a personal achievement for Amelia and Charlie. It was a heartfelt mission to support causes close to them and their families. In the lead-up to the big day, they trained tirelessly, balancing revision and coursework with training runs and strength training to stay injury-free.
But their efforts didn’t stop at the running track. Determined to maximise their fundraising, Amelia and Charlie also organised a Chocolate Easter Tombola, which proved a hit amongst students and staff alike. With sponsorships and donations rolling in alongside the tombola proceeds, their combined total quickly surpassed their original target.
We couldn’t be prouder of Amelia and Charlie—not just for completing the half-marathon, but for the compassion, initiative, and commitment they showed throughout. They are shining examples of what it means to lead with heart and action.
Well done, both of you!
