Congratulations to our amazing librarian, Amy McKay, who has been named School Librarian of the Year 2016! Amy beat off competition from four other candidates to scoop the top national title awarded by The School Library Association. She was presented with her award by multi-award winning author Kim Slater at an award ceremony in London.
Corby Business Academy celebrated the achievements of hundreds of its students at its annual award ceremony attended by local dignitaries and VIP guests. The inspirational speaker was sportswoman Claire Lomas who, despite being paralysed from the chest down in a riding accident, has gone on to take part in many extreme sports as well as completing the London Marathon and lighting the Paralympic Flame in London 2012 while raising more than half a million pounds for spinal injury research and writing a book.
Corby Business Academy’s librarian, Amy McKay, is one of only five in the country to be named on this year’s School Librarian of the Year Honours List. Amy’s profile will feature on the School Library Association’s website before the winner is announced at a ceremony in London in October.
She was nominated by CBA’s Principal, Mrs Duggan, and Amy had to submit evidence and also host two judges for a full day visit, before making it through to the final five contenders.
Staff and students at Corby Business Academy are celebrating another fantastic set of GCSE results.
