World Book Day 2025!

World Book Day champions reading for fun, because it seriously improves children’s lives. Children are more likely to read if they think they’ll enjoy it.
Celebrating World Book Day every year helps to challenge the idea that reading is hard work and boring, by making it fun for children to express themselves through reading.
We celebrated World Book Day by encouraging Staff to dress up as well-known book characters and they didn’t disappoint with their efforts! We had a rare assortment of characters ranging from ‘Cat in the Hat’, ‘The Invisible Man’ and an unbelievable ‘Miss Havisham’. Every department joined in, so fun was had across the entire building, with students eager to get to their next lesson to see who would be teaching them!
The Library was also a hub of fun activities during lunchtimes, as the Student Librarian team were giving out prizes galore to students who were able to play games such as ‘Higher or Lower’, ‘Spin to Win’ and ‘Guess the Book’.
Students were also able to pick up their FREE World Book Day token or one of this year’s FREE books that were kindly supplied by WH Smith in Corby.
The entire day was a huge success, fun was had by all, and we achieved our aim of encouraging lots of discussions about books and reading. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
