Year 10 Student to Perform at Royal Albert Hall with National Youth Brass Champions

We are proud to share that Year 10 student Stanislaw Plaminiak will be performing at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 11th October, as part of the gala concert at the Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
Stanislaw, who only began learning the tuba three years ago, has already set his sights on a professional music career. He is a dedicated and talented member of the Corby Business Academy Music Department, serving as principal tuba in the Concert Band and playing bass guitar in the Big Band.
He will be performing a 45-minute set with Youth Brass 2000, the current National Youth Champions of Great Britain, ahead of the results announcement at the championships.
Stanislaw will be performing on stage with a number of distinguished alumni who have gone on to achieve national and international acclaim, including Jordan Ashman (BBC Young Musician of the Year 2022), Siobhan Edwards (Black Dyke Band), and Mathew Gee (Principal Trombone, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra). The ensemble will also feature performers currently playing with elite UK bands and studying at leading conservatoires.
Reflecting on the opportunity, Stanislaw said: "I am absolutely thrilled. It’s a tremendous honour to be invited to perform at such an iconic venue as part of this prestigious event. I’m really looking forward to it – although I am a little nervous!"
Mr Wears, Director of Music at Corby Business Academy, commented: "It is a fantastic honour for Stanislaw to perform at the National Finals as part of the gala concert. I am confident he will represent Corby Business Academy brilliantly."
We wish Stanislaw the very best for his performance and look forward to celebrating his continued success.
