A major business asked our Steel Band to provide the entertainment at its popular summer fun day.
RS Components, which is the world’s leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products, invited our young musicians to perform at its fun day in Corby.
Staff members at RS Components have given up their time to provide expert advice and mentoring to our students on many occasions and our musicians were only too happy to support the firm at its fun day.
CBA Music Teacher Lucy Wass, who conducted the band, said: “The students performed brilliantly.
“The event was outside and it was a really hot day, but despite this the students were great and were an asset to the school.
“They got lots of praise from all the staff at RS Components who all commented on how impressed they were.
“RS Components looked after us really well and we got a barbecue lunch and the pupils received Amazon vouchers as a thank you.
“All the pupils had a great time. It's really good to show Corby what talent we have at CBA.”
Principal John Henrys also attended the event.
He said: “It was once again incredibly pleasing to see our students performing for such an appreciative audience.
“There was a great atmosphere and it was obvious that the students were really enjoying themselves.
“We are always keen to foster links with our partner organisations and on this occasion it was nice to give something back to RS Components, particularly after all the support they have given us with the Young Enterprise Programme.”
Kathryn Fantom, of RS Components, added: "The students and teachers who performed for us were an absolute joy.
"Our staff loved the Steel Band and it caused a real stir.
"The students were an absolute credit to themselves and the school."
