The CBA students are involved in the McGraw Hill Literacy Initiative which is designed to boost students’ reading proficiency.
During their visit they mentored pupils in Years 3 and 4 and read their favourite books from this year’s Kate Greenaway Award shortlist.
Our students were accompanied by English Teacher Helen Bennett and Librarian Amy McKay.
Miss McKay said: “Our students did some peer mentoring, working with four pupils at a time, and read aloud their favourite picture books to the younger pupils.
“Year 3 voted Alfie Pye as their best reader and Pawel Chrowstowski read their favourite book which was The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywait and Oliver Jeffers.”
