Our Academy has launched its latest Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme programme.

Our Academy has launched its latest Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme programme.

A presentation on the Bronze award was given to our Year 9 and 10 students at the end of last week and any students who were interested in signing up to the scheme were encouraged to attend a session this evening.

Our Year 12 students will learn about the Silver award during a presentation on September 23rd.

Active Teacher Natasha Dunstone is co-ordinating the awards at our Academy and will act as our Year 12 team leader.

She said: “The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme gives young people the chance to enjoy lots of new experiences, discover new talents and make a difference to other people’s lives.

“All the staff who are helping with the awards are very excited to begin working with their groups of students.”

Our Year 9 team leaders will be Daniel Hempkin and Rebecca Horridge and the Year 10 team leaders will be Nigel Holt and Jonathon Chew.

Information about the awards will be placed on the display boards in the Academy’s Central Mall and outside the Sports Hall.
