Could you be our next Bake Off champions?

The hunt is on to find the team of bakers who can help CBA win the Great BWT Bake Off championship for the second year.

The hunt is on to find the team of bakers who can help CBA win the Great BWT Bake Off championship for the second year.

Our Academy’s team of student bakers was crowned the winner of the inaugural competition last year after beating bakers from other secondary schools in the Brooke Weston Trust.

Bakers who want to represent us this year have until Wednesday 25th March to email their application for a place in this year’s team to CBA Restaurant Manager Chris Lapsley and Miss Adams.

Mr Lapsley said: “We are really keen to win the competition again.

“We are looking for students who are really passionate about food and baking who can help us win the title again and keep the crown.

“Last year’s competition was a huge success and there is a lot of excitement about this year’s contest.”

The competition is open to students in Years 7 to 10.

To be in with a chance of representing our Academy students must submit their favourite recipe along with a short explanation, detailing why they think they should be considered for a place in this year’s Bake Off.

Our selected bakers will then take part in six weekly baking challenges during Session 4 which will run from April 16th to May 21st.

The challenges will include making biscuits, cookies, scones, cupcakes, muffins, tray-bakes, pastry, bread and a show stopper dessert.

Students will be judged on presentation, taste, hygiene and safety.

The overall winner of the six challenges and two runners-up will then form CBA’s Bake Off team which will go forward to this year’s Grand Final in Term 6.
