Our mathematicians beat some of the brightest young minds in the region at a prestigious competition.
A team of Year 8 and 9 students went head to head with teams from top schools at the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust’s Team Challenge Eastern England competition in Peterborough.
Our team came 14th out of 27 teams and our growing success at the competition has left us with high hopes for further success next year.
CBA Mathematics Teacher Shaun Steele said: “It was a great experience for our students because the competition challenged them to look at problems in a variety of different ways.
“A lot of independent schools take part in this contest and our students did very well.
“We are really proud of our students and we hope to do even better at the competition next year.”
The students took part in a number of rounds during the event including a group round, crossnumber which is similar to crossword and a relay mathematics race.
