The first of two major athletics events will take place at Rockingham Triangle Sports Stadium tomorrow.

Year 8 students will visit the stadium tomorrow (Monday 11th May) for our first big athletics event and next Monday our Year 7 students will also visit the popular venue for a day of athletics.

The athletics days follow the launch of our popular new Athletics Club which is held during Session 4 on Thursdays.

Active Teacher Natasha Dunstone (pictured) said: “It will be great for our Year 7 and 8 students to compete in athletics events in a professional athletics stadium.

“The students will take part in a variety of activities during the days. We want them to challenge themselves and we hope we will see a lot of students setting new personal bests.

“We’re keen to create a strong athletics team to take part in the athletics fixtures we’ve got lined up in Term 6.

“We also hope to strengthen our links with clubs in the area.”

The students will take part in a number of activities at Rockingham Triangle including hurdles, 800m, 100m, shotput and long jump.

All students are welcome to attend the Athletics Club on Thursdays.
