Year 6 students Caitlin, Evie and Charlotte, who are from our fellow Brooke Weston Trust school Gretton Primary Academy, have been visiting our Academy to work with our talented Mathematics teachers every Wednesday since December.
CBA Assistant Director of Mathematics Maxwell Sam said: “These students are exceptional mathematicians for their age.
“We were approached by their school to see if we could offer them some additional support to push them onwards and help them prepare for secondary school.
“We have done a lot of problem solving activities with them and they now respond confidently to every mathematical problem we give them.
“They are also sharing everything they are learning here with their friends in primary school which is fantastic.
“This is a good example of schools across the Trust working together.
“The students have benefitted from the experience but personally so have I because I have never worked with primary school pupils before so it has been a good opportunity for me to learn different approaches to teaching.”
The students have also worked on SAT questions and have looked at how to answer mathematics questions in general.
