A group of our Year 9 students will present their e-safety product at the final of the County Schools Challenge 2015 tomorrow.
This year Northamptonshire Police challenged secondary school students to come up with a product which would tackle cyber bullying and promote e-safety.
Our students have formed a company called Ciberwise which has produced an educational pack of learning resources for primary schools.
Pupils are challenged to answer e-safety questions and are rewarded with certificates and badges as they go through the different sections of the game.
CBA Teacher and Project Facilitator Karen Owen said:“Our students aimed their product at primary school pupils because they thought it would be good to educate people about cyber bullying and e-safety at a young age.
“The resource also includes activities the pupils can do with their families at home and when they have completed them they can return them to school to receive a family certificate.
“The students have put in a lot of hard work into the project after school and they were thrilled to make it through to the final. It’s the first time we have entered the competition so it’s fantastic that we have done so well.
“We would like to thank CBA teacher David Mitchell for designing beautiful badges for the game.”
The resources also include pencils, posters, teachers’ mugs and rulers and schools can choose to buy an annual subscription so they can take advantage of any upgrades to the product.
The students hope everyone will take up the company’s motto of Be Safe Be Ciberwise.
Our team is made up of Jessica Icke, Rebecca Sawford, Lewis Viner, George Slater and Riain Hobbs.
They will present their product to judges and a packed audience at the grand final at the Castle Theatre in Wellingborough tomorrow evening.
