Our students took part in exciting trips and activities during our second Enrichment Day.
The event was designed to help our students develop an interest in a wide range of subjects outside of the classroom.
The trips we ran this year included visits to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Bletchley Park, the Harry Potter Studio Tour, Drayton Manor, Duxford Imperial War Museum, Twycross Zoo and Wicksteed Park.
In school we also range a variety of sessions, including the Greenbull Challenge, which challenged students to design and make soapbox go-karts which were then entered into races, and a project to make balloon powered cars.
Vice Principal Jenny Tomlin said: “At CBA we recognise that academic outcomes within the classroom alone are never enough.
“To support our students’ interest in a wide range of subjects we offer a range of extra-curricular activities during and after school which enable them to visit a variety of locations.
“Enrichment Day enabled the students to choose from a range of activities both in and out of school.
“The feedback we have received from the students has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Teacher Abbie Parsons was involved in the trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
She said: “On the day the students were amazing in terms of their behaviour and they were very excited to see the sets, props and costumes used in the Harry Potter films.
“Lots of them tried butterbeer, saw the Hogwarts Express and we even organised a quiz for the way home. The winner received some Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans.”
