A group of our Year 8 students are taking part in a pioneering new languages project.
Our students have been invited to take part in a Pre-16 Bespoke Programme in Spanish, called Beyond the Classroom, which will be held at Nottingham Trent University.
The project is being run by Routes Into Languages East Midlands in conjunction with the university and will give our students the chance to improve their knowledge, engage with international students and learn about globalization.
CBA Director of Modern Languages Karen Turney said: “This project provides enrichment activities in Spanish in order to accelerate student progress and raise awareness of the importance of studying languages in terms of employability and intercultural understanding.
“Our students will meet university students from other countries and experience student life at university.
“They will also have a taster session in another language.
“This is the first time this project has been done with Year 8 students and this event is being put on especially for our Academy.
“It is a great opportunity for our students.”
The first of two visits to the university will take place on Tuesday 17th November.
