Humanutopia unlock our students' potential

Our Year 9 students have taken part in inspiring activities to help them unlock their potential.
We invited Humanutopia into school to deliver their Who Are You? course which aims to help young people overcome barriers that prevent them from unlocking their potential.
The students took part in a variety of activities designed to help them make new friends, modify or improve their behaviour and understand other people’s behaviour.
The course also encouraged students to want to try harder at school to improve their grades and helped them to feel positive about their future.
Humanutopia Facilitator Steve Bicket said: “We helped the students to identify any barriers to learning and other hurdles they face and overcome them.
“We talked to them about their aspirations and encouraged them to make the most of their opportunities at school and in life in general.
“All our courses are about giving young people hope, building their confidence, improving their relationships and helping them to be employable.”
Tamara Isted, 19, joined Humanutopia in September after she was inspired by one of their visits to her school.
She said: “We’ve taken the students out of their comfort zones and encouraged them to communicate with one another.
“The students here have been incredible.”
