Geographers study glacial formation

GCSE Geography students have been tackling the complex subject of glacial formation.
The Year 11 students used plasticine to recreate models of glacial formation before they went on to learn about glacial processes and landforms.
The students recreated a slice through the ice, following the transformation of fluffy snow to a compact firn, which is the intermediate stage between snow and glacial ice, to a solid block of ice.
Director of Geography Maxine Hopewell said: “This is a very complex topic for students to learn about and they coped very well with the terminology and the processes involved.”
