Our brilliant musicians are gearing up to perform in the world’s largest youth music festival.
About 70 of our musicians will compete at Music For Youth’s Regional Festival in Northampton.
The event will include performances from our Big Band and from a new band created for the festival.
CBA Director of Music Clive Wears said: “This year we are trying an experiment. We are going to combine our Senior and Junior Concert Bands and some of our Year 7 brass musicians to create a new band for the festival.
“We thought it would be fun to try something different and it will give our younger musicians the chance to perform at a fantastic festival.
“The rehearsals have been going very well and we are looking forward to the performance.”
The combined band will perform Bolero and Buster Strikes Back featuring a cornet solo by Louie Anderson.
The Big Band will perform Valerie, One Step Beyond and Mack The Knife.
The Regional Festival will take place at the Spinney Theatre at Northampton School for Girls on Saturday 12th March.
The best performers will go on to perform at Music For Youth’s National Festival in Birmingham in July.
