Enterprising Media students have created a marketing campaign to promote Corby.

A group of Year 9 students planned, prepared and presented a marketing campaign for Project Corby.

The students worked in groups of three or four to produce a leaflet, poster, billboard and television advertisement to promote Corby to a range of audiences in a bid to encourage people to come to Corby for leisure activities or to live in the area permanently.

The project was supported by Ready Unlimited and the Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership and was overseen by CBA Head of Media Sarah Ghost.

She said: “The students worked over the course of five weeks in their media lessons to produce their final campaign, which they then delivered to an audience of professional employers, including SilverDisc Ltd, Wacoal, Town Centre Apps, C Butt Ltd, Wilson Brown Solicitors, and the leader of Corby Borough Council, Councillor Tom Beattie.

“The project is part of a wider initiative to encourage students and teachers to develop a more entrepreneurial spirit within students, and to foster engagement with local business and employers as part of curriculum planning.”

This project and curriculum planning will be used as evidence in an application for a National Enterprising Teacher Award.
