Bands win four trophies at music festival
Our fantastic musicians won every category they entered in the Oundle Festival of Music and Drama.
Our fantastic musicians won every category they entered in the Oundle Festival of Music and Drama.
They were highly commended by the judges who said they produced technically and artistically convincing performances.
In total they won three cups and a shield after earning four first places and one second place.
CBA Director of Music Clive Wears said: “We are very proud of all our musicians.
“They performed incredibly well at the festival and were a credit to our Academy.
“During the festival our Senior Concert Band was once again joined by members of our Year 7 Brass Beginners Group. It was a fantastic opportunity for our younger musicians to take part in another exciting festival.
“All our Year 7 musicians have done so well they have been invited to join our Junior Concert Band during its rehearsals on Tuesdays during Session 4.”
Our Senior Concert Band (pictured) won the Sidney McAdam Cup in the Band 18 Years and Under category with a score of 86%.
Our Big Band won the Lady Margaret Proby Shield II when they came first in the Junior Jazz Ensemble 18 Years and Under category with a score of 86%.
Our Junior Concert Band won the Oundle Middle School Cup after taking the top spot in the Band Key Stage 3 and Under section with a score 85%.
Our Woodwind Ensemble won the Mason Cup when it came first in the Instrumental Ensemble 18 Years and Under category with a score of 86% narrowly beating our Brass Ensemble which came second with a score of 85%.
