Our creative Year 9 Textiles students have been challenged to make products with a specific target market in mind for the first time.
The students have been designing and making hanging storage devices for a variety of groups including children, DIY enthusiasts, teachers, teenagers and pet lovers.
CBA Lead Teacher in Design Technology Abbie Parsons said: “This is the first project the students have done where they have had to design and create something for someone else.
“They had to consider what their target market would want from the product and how they could make the product suitable for them.
“This year we have worked on projects which have helped the students to build their skills before they start their GCSE coursework.
“The previous project we did involved a lot of decorative techniques and this project included decorative and construction techniques.
“They also had to draft their own templates to create their designs and they have been using the sublimation printer and the CAD/CAM embroidery machines which are industrial pieces of equipment.
“The students challenged themselves a lot and I am impressed with what they have achieved. They have been very creative.”
