CBA’s Director of PE has earned a top qualification which is only awarded to highly effective senior leaders in schools.
Amy Harris (pictured) has received the Government’s National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) after taking part in an intensive training programme.
To achieve the award she also pioneered a programme designed to strengthen the links between the Academy, a group of Year 11 students and their parents in order to close the gap between parental knowledge and students’ performance and improve outcomes for the students.
She said: “The qualification was very challenging and it was interesting to get involved in a project that went across the whole school.
“By strengthening the links between our Academy, parents and students we helped our parents to find out what our students need to do and ensured that our students were supported strongly both at home and at school.
“As a result parents felt they were able to give their children strong support in the lead up to their GCSEs.
“The project has resulted in a positive and sustainable impact on students’ outcomes.
“I would like to be a Vice Principal in the future and taking part in this qualification has given me a greater understanding of how senior leadership works.”
