An Information Evening for parents of Year 6 pupils who are joining CBA in September will be held tomorrow (Tuesday 21st June) between 6pm and 7.30pm.
The evening will include a presentation from Senior Assistant Principal Andrea Callender about the pastoral side of life at CBA and parents will be introduced to key personnel such as the Well Being Team and form tutors.
Vice Principal Paul Wilson will give a presentation on school transport, there will be a welcome from Associate Principal Janet Duggan and new students will have the opportunity to try on the uniform so they can order it online.
There will be a presentation on changes to the timings of lessons during the school day and refreshments will be available to purchase for 50p from the Restaurant.
Parents will also be given information about our second event for Year 6 pupils – Transition Day which will take place on Friday 8th July.
All Year 6 pupils who are starting CBA in September have been invited to the Transition Day which will start at 9am.
The event will feature exciting team building exercises and the pupils will be given lunch in the Academy’s Restaurant.
Senior Assistant Principal Alice Beckwith said: “We want to make Transition Day enjoyable for the pupils so they feel excited about joining our Academy in September.
“For this reason we have delayed testing pupils until September.
“New pupils will spend the majority of the day with their new form tutors, where possible.”
At 2.30pm parents will be invited back to the Academy to see what the students have produced during their team building exercises.
Parents will also have chance to meet representatives of our parents group which is called the Friends of CBA.
Pupils should wear their normal school uniform and bring along plimsolls.
Transition Day will finish at 3pm.
