Student fishing trip
This term a group of students took part in a fishing trip organised by the Masonic Fishing Charity.
Eight students from the Unit participated in the ‘Catching the Smile’ fishing course, designed to give people with special needs the opportunity to learn how to fish.
Each student paired up with a fisherman for the day and went fly-fishing at Ringstead Grange Trout Fisheries.
CBA teacher, Nikki Clark said ‘The students really enjoyed the day. Many of the students had not been fishing before so it was great for them to be able experience something new.’
To end the day the students enjoyed a barbeque and were awarded prizes.
Emma won a medal for catching the first fish, Fifi won a medal for catching the biggest fish and Liam won a medal for participation.
The students are now hoping to return to the waters in June to go course fishing at Ringstead Island.
