World Book Day festivities

To celebrate World Book Day, the library team organised a variety of book related activities.

Staff dressed up as characters from their favourite books and students took part in a reading relay. The short story was divided into four sections and staff read out a different section to students in each of their lessons to expose them to a range of reading styles.

There was also a quiz based on what staff around the school are currently reading and WBD vouchers and books were given out throughout the day.

Unfortunatley due to the weather our WBD was cut short and we were unable to have our costume modelling and prize giving ceremony in the central mall.

Associate Principal Janina Taylor said ‘Although we had to end the day early there was a lovely buzz around the building for World Book Day. It was brilliant to see the students engaging with books they may not usually pick up and broadening their reading array.’

Thank you to our library staff Amy and Christina (aka little red riding hood and the big bad wolf) for organsing the day.
