Runner Set For National Athletics Competition
Jordan ran the 100m in 12.2 seconds on Saturday and is now due to compete in the next stage of competition, which is organised by the English Schools' Athletics Association and takes place this weekend at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
Jordan, who has been a member of Corby Athletics Club for less than a year and trains two or three times a week, knows he will have to beat his personal best time of 11.9 seconds to be in with a shot of winning.
It is the first time Jordan has reached this level of a competition although he has competed at county level before.
He said: "The most important part of the run is how you start, the way you bring yourself upright and when.
"I'm a bit nervous about who I'll be running against but I'm looking forward to it."
Jordan also competes in 200m and high jump events.
