Friends of Club Recruiting Members
There are just eight places available in the Friends of club and so students and staff are being urged to act fast if they want to secure a place.
Members of the select club (which costs just £10 per year to join) will be able to buy the produce at reduced prices.
Nikki Clark said: "Your £10 would help us buy some fruit plants for our Kitchen Garden as well as treating our raised beds and decking to ensure that it lasts as long as possible. "
The garden was set up in 2010 following a grant from the Lottery's Local Food Grant.
From bare land the group have managed to create a wonderful garden, putting in raised beds, planting fruit trees and installing a chicken run.
Miss Clark: "Our students enjoyed undertaking practical tasks in our Kitchen Garden last year, ranging from sowing seeds, potting on, watering and harvesting produce to caring for our chickens.
"These activities have taken place as part of the students' curriculum and during our Session 4 Kitchen Garden Club on Tuesday evenings. The students have benefited from this outdoor learning environment and are proud of their work and our garden area.
"Our achievements last year have included the planting of a mini orchard, making strawberry jam from our very own strawberries, as well as practical additions like the ramp into our chicken area."
The invite is open to Friends and family. Members will receive 20% off produce, 10% off baked goods and jam and six fresh eggs for £1
Members will also receive newsletters to update on progress, list the produce available and inform of any upcoming events.
