Gifted And Talented Enrichment Programme Launched
Students taking part in the programme have been asked to attend a workshop this Saturday (October 15th) where they will experience an "Apprentice" style project.
Parents have also been invited in to hear more about the Gifted and Talented programme and will be given strategies to help assist their child's learning.
They can then stay to watch the group presentations in the main theatre at the end of the session.
Assistant Vice Principal for Aspiration Kirsty Farrar, who is in charge of the programme, said: "The point of these workshops is to enrich students' learning, and to help them realise that learning does not just take part in the classroom. As well as the additional weekend workshops they are invited to take part in other programmes that will stretch them and teach them transferable skills.
The theme for this Saturday's workshop is Get Shirty, this is a textile themed project which will include designing, making, and marketing a product.
As part of the day Sixth Form students will be on hand to assist with the project and act as tour guides for parents.
Other Gifted and Talented Saturday workshops will take place on Saturday, February 4th and on Saturday, April 28th.
