CBA Musicians Prepare For Two Competitions
It is going to be an extremely busy Spring for our Concert Band as it seeks to retain its local Eisteddfod title and win a place in a prestigious music festival.
The Eisteddfod is taking place this year on Wednesday, March 14th at the Salvation Army Building in Kettering and the Senior Concert Band will be joined by the Woodwind Ensemble and the Senior Brass Ensemble in the local competition.
The three music groups will also be competing for the first time in the regional heats of the National Festival of Youth.
The heats take place on Sunday, March 18th at the Northampton School for Boys and if they win through they will perform at the final in the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
CBA’s Director of Music Clive Wears said: “The standard of the Festival is extremely high and is a compliment to the students who have made it to this level in a relatively short time.”
At the heats the students will be performing a selection which may include Ballad for Benny and the Celtic Ritual.
A letter with more information has been sent home to parents.
